TESTIMONIALS …
“Galen is a passionate educator who cares deeply for the students and their joyful learning. Galen's teaching style holds students at the center - he differentiates his teaching to meet the needs of the student, engages students in his teaching, models the learning, and demonstrates and frequently checks for understanding.  Galen is approachable and invests in connecting with his students, thus they are in turn, invested in his teaching and material.  It is a dream for me as a Director to have such a capable Artist in Resident as Galen on my team.”   Monina Sen Cervone, Director of World Music Program at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts

“Galen has been teaching Taiko at Marin Academy for the last six years and he is a masterful teacher who seems to be a sort of teenager "whisperer," keeping focus in a room full of students pounding huge drums without ever raising his voice.  His calm, positive, warm presence, his deep knowledge of, and experience in taiko, and his creative artistry all contribute to his remarkable effectiveness as a teacher.  We are so lucky to have him at MA, working his magic!” Annie Elias, Chair of Performing Arts Department at Marin Academy
